Hey everyone, it’s been a while. In fact, it’s been way too long since we’ve posted an update on the studio’s activities. Due to the COVID pandemic and the development of a new undisclosed project, we kept to ourselves these past years. Thankfully, this is all about to change. We are proud and excited to officially reveal our new upcoming game: Towers of Thana.
What is Towers of Thana?
Towers of Thana is an action & strategy game where you invoke magic and summon towers to defend mythologies against a dark corruption. Travel to their homelands and rally legendary creatures to your cause against Ogur, a god turned evil, and his corrupted armies. Play as Ectus, a young warrior from the ruling order of Thana, and travel the land to push back Ogur’s forces. Wield mythological artifacts and sacred relics to fight and dispatch of your foes!
The gameplay is centered around Ectus and his towers to protect the various regions of Thana from imminent doom. Doing so, we’ve also decided to bring a new take on tower defense, as well as enhance the genre’s combat and strategic layers, by designing Towers Combos. Towers Combos are devastating abilities that can be unleashed with good positioning between the player and his towers. Using them will turn the tide of battle in an instant!
A Big Step Up
This new game is a big step up for our team. Indeed, we’re going from a 2D platformer to a 3D strategy game with tactical combat, tower defense and management elements. The development of such a behemoth project was not an easy task. Truthfully, we’ve had our fair share of trial and error before finding the right mix of all these elements. On top of that, the team grew considerably during development, going up to 8 full-time devs at one point. Currently, the studio is made of 7 full-time devs working on finishing up the game.
What’s Ahead
Since the launch of Light Fall’s Lost Worlds Edition, we’ve been working non-stop on Towers of Thana. At last, we are finally happy with end result. While we still have a bit of fine-tuning to do, the core of the game is well established. As such, we are targeting Summer 2023 for a Steam Early Access release!
On a shorter timeline, we will be returning to live events with a booth at PAX East this coming March! To those of you who will be attending, make sure to visit us at booth #16097 to try out the game and have a quick chat with us!
