PAX South – Day 1: Light Fall is ready to kick ass!

Hey guys! Here’s the first post of our upcoming PAX South series where we will keep y’all updated on how things are going for us in San Antonio.

We arrived safe and sound yesterday in late afternoon, after a taking three different planes (t’was a fun day… not). Our hotel is pretty neat, with a big bedroom with two double beds and we even have a TV room with a big couch. We ate at San Antonio’s finest restaurant, Pizza Hut, as our first meal in this beautiful city. We then wandered the streets of downtown San Antonio, all around a beautiful place even though some streets felt shady or dangerous. We bought a 6-pack of beer for the three of us and got drunk (yes, that’s two beers each. We were tired, sue me) and fell asleep.

Today we woke up fresh at around 8 AM, ate some breakfast and started to plan our booth preparation for the event. We only had one problem left to solve: we had to get two TVs. We asked our hotel frontdesk lady (she’s very sweet) and the manager if we could either rent our own room TVs or if any place selling TVs were within walking distance. No luck. Still, the manager had the lady ”give us a favor” and drive us to the nearest Walmart for free… She refused our tip even though we insisted! Very kind people overall so I will shamelessly plug our hotel : Holiday Inn Express on El Paso Street. So there you go, next time you visit San Antonio, you go there.

Morning selfie. It was raining but at least it wasn't snowing heh.

We bought the TVs and grabbed a cab to the Convention Center, where the event takes place. When we arrived, we were shocked by the sheer size of the event. So many exhibitors, so many awesome booths, so many insane games. This weekend will be a blast. After we were done drooling all over the floor, we got to our booth space and started to get going.

Time to pimp this booth out.

For once, and it was probably the first time ever, we didn’t encounter any major problem. Our build worked fine, our TVs were fine and without any major lag, honestly we were pretty happy. It took like 1 hour to set everything up.

We are also very happy with our spot, it’s right on a corner and the booth stands out alot. Here’s the final result:

Ready to play some Light Fall? Hell yes.

We also met our friends and other indies from Quebec, Chainsawesome Games and Berzerk. Here they are:

We are ready and confident for tomorrow. We can’t wait for the event to start, it will surely be a blast. After we were done installing our stuff, we scouted the whole area and checked out the other booths. Man some people simply go crazy out there. Check this out:
