A big ‘Thank you!’ to everyone who showed up yesterday

Hey everyone, how’s it going?

With this blog post we, at Bishop Games, just wanted to thank you all for coming yesterday night at the ‘Soirée jeux d’ici’. The crowd was amazing and we had a blast discussing video games, and specifically, hearing your opinions on Light Fall. We did not expect this many people to show up, and I think the other studios would agree with us when we say it was a huge success!

The Quebec video game industry and its community has progressed so much in the past decade, it is mind-boggling at times. The big guys (Frima, Ubi, Beenox, etc.) opened up the way for us indies, and the overall quality of the games being worked on right now is simply amazing. Another thing I want to point out is the diversity of the games that were shown yesterday. An insanely fun and chaotic multiplayer game where knights bash each others (Knight Squad), an intriguing adventure game set in the 1970’s in the cold north of Quebec (Kôna), an online arena game where huge (and I must say very cool looking) robots destroy each other (God Factory), a very addictive and difficult game where you have to dodge a quadrizillions (definitely not making stuff up here) obstacles coming at you in sync with the music (Just Shapes and Beats)… just to name a few.

But all of this wouldn’t be possible without you. Without the public’s support, indies and even triple A’s couldn’t survive. So highfive to each and everyone of you who showed up yesterday and let’s do this again sometime soon.

I’d also like to give a quick shout out to the guys from the MIGS and Alliance Numérique who came from Montreal yesterday and helped us alot set up this amazing event. Serge, Nic, and all the other guys, good work!

We also want to share some pictures of the event at our stand:
